The one & only piece of wax pressed from Battlecat’s mythical “Gumbo Roots” album that was set to be released in 1995 but ended up stuck in the vaults. Lead track on the 12” features Ras Kass & two lesser known MC’s by the names of Hot B & Skitso G, over an uber-smooth instrumental that damn near blurs the lines between g-funk & neo soul. Also includes a TV track for those who’d prefer to just vibe on the music alone. B-side “Stone Cold Nut” takes it to the streets aggressively and provides the perfect balance to the grown-up, smooth sensibilities of the lead track. West coast collectors will note that this one used to go for a lot more back in the day so we recommend copping this now before the supply dries up again.
